As the original developers of VNC remote-access technology our software is used by hundreds of millions of users worldwide from the non-technical home user to IT professionals from global companies, such as Intel, IBM, Philips and Qualcomm. We have immediate, significant expansion plans and are looking for talented and committed Embedded Software Engineers to join our growing team.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Software Engineers to join our team and take an active role in growing our global brand. As part of the mobile team you will be working on creation of the latest generation of VNC technology targeted for use within the automotive sector. You must possess demonstrable programming and problem solving skills. A team player, you will be highly self-motivated and will enjoy considerable responsibility. The work is interesting and challenging, and you will be expected to make a full and significant contribution.
The responsibilities of this role include
- Responsibility for the delivery of embedded software development projects, especially for the automotive sector
- To create and maintain development tool kits, pluggable connector components and reference applications appropriate for our OEM customers
- Supporting the mobile sales team with projects and activities consistent with the responsibilities of the role
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and acting as a representative of RealVNC at all times
Your skills and experience must include
- A relevant technical degree (or equivalent qualification) in Computer Science or related subject or equivalent industry experience
- Experience of some of the following embedded operating systems is essential:
- Windows Automotive/CE/XP Embedded
- QNX
- μItron
- Android
- Linux
- Freescale
- Qt
- Genivi
- Applied experience within an automotive application is highly desirable
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A confident, motivated, professional personality and style
- Experience in customer facing situations would be beneficial
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and a focus on delivering results
- Willingness to travel as required, including outside the UK
